Names: Genealogy, Definition, Role and Function

Atum - Sun god Ra: Atum, who was later subsumed as the Sun God Ra, sometimes referred to as Atum-Ra was the the creator god of the world and Pharaoh god of Egypt. Atum was the first God and spat out the elements of moisture (the Goddess Tefnut) and air (the God Shu).

Osiris Genealogy: Osiris was the the god of death, reincarnation and the underworld. Osiris was the eldest son of the Earth God, Geb, and the Sky Goddess, Nut. He was the brother of Isis, Set and Nephthys. He was also the brother and husband of Isis and father of the God Horus. He was also the father of the God Anubis by his sister Nephthys.

Isis Genealogy: Isis was the goddess of love, beauty, Magic, Fertility and Healing. Isis was the daughter of the Earth God, Geb, and the Sky Goddess, Nut. She was the sister of Osiris, Seth and Nephthys. She was also the wife, as well as sister of Osiris, and mother of the God Horus.

Geb Genealogy: Geb was the god of vegetation & the earth in which the dead were laid. Geb was the son of Shu and the goddess Tefnut. Geb and his twin sister Nut had four children: Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys.

Nephthys Genealogy: Nephthys was the goddess of night, and lamentation. Nephthys was the daughter of Geb, and the Sky Goddess, Nut. She was the sister of Osiris, Seth and Nephthys. She was also the wife and sister of Set and mother of the God Anubis by Osiris.

Set Genealogy: Set was the name of the evil god of darkness, deserts and storms. Set was the younger son of the Earth God, Geb, and the Sky Goddess, Nut. Set was the brother of Osiris, Isis and Nephthys. He was also the husband of his sister Nephthys. Set murdered his brother Osiris.

Nut Genealogy: Nut was the goddess of the sky and a symbol of resurrection and rebirth.  Nut was  the daughter of the twins, Shu and Tefnut, and sister of Geb who became her husband. Geb and Nut had four children: Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephthys.
